Steel-Wiki is a free online encyclopedia for the fabricated steel industry written collaboratively by many of its readers. Copyright Issues

Before you begin please take time to read our Copyright FAQ regarding what you can and cannot post here.

How can I help?

Don't be afraid to edit — anyone can edit almost any page, and we encourage you to be bold! Find something that can be improved and make it better - for example, spelling, grammar, rewriting for readability and removing unconstructive edits. If you wish to add new facts, please provide references, so they may be verified.

Remember - you can't break Steel-Wiki, all edits can be reversed, fixed or improved later. So go ahead, edit an article and help make Steel-Wiki the best information source on the Internet!

If you haven't already, why not make your first test edit right now?

  1. Login as a user (button at top right corner of this page). You can register to create a free user account on the login page.
  2. Go to the playground to make test edits. (If there is already some text there, add to the end of the text.)
  3. Type some text.
  4. Click “Preview” to test your changes, or “Save” the page when you're happy with the way it looks.

How to Create a New Topic

  1. Login as a user (button at top right corner of this page). You can register to create a free user account on the login page.
  2. Go to an existing page (ie: steel detailer) and edit that page with some text including the topic you want to add in the content.
  3. Highlight the “topic” text and select the “Internal Link” button at the top of the edit box. The “Internal Link” button looks like a couple of chain links. The button to the right of that one (globe with chain links) is the “External Link” button. You would use it to reference other web sites to back up facts.
  4. Save that page.
  5. Click on the “topic” text in that page. This will take you to a new page where you can edit and add new content.

Alternatively you can create a new topic by…

  2. Enter a topic in the “Search” box at the left side of the page.
